From our choice of materials, factories and packaging to the life cycles of our shoes, Mavette continually works to reduce our environmental impact by treating Mother Nature as our most important customer.
MATERIALS & COMPONENTS
What we use and, perhaps more importantly don’t use, to make our shoes is the first step. We use high-quality, enduring materials that are ethically sourced from vendors who are conscious about water usage, carbon emissions and waste. Take our leathers which utilize hides that are a by-product of food production that would otherwise be treated as waste. Our shoes are delivered in 100% recyclable packaging and the carbon emissions are offset when you checkout with Shop Pay.
MANUFACTURING
Our manufacturing process is as high quality and sustainable as the materials we use. We pride ourselves on working with small, family-owned factories in Italy who handcraft our shoes the way they have been for generations. Given our close relationships with these factories, we are able to produce in small batches, eliminating overproduction and waste as well as shrinking our carbon footprint.
PRODUCT LIFECYCLE
The quality of a Mavette shoe will make it a wardrobe staple for years. However, we care as much about what happens to our products at the end of their life cycles as we do their creation. While materials like leather will naturally biodegrade, our mission is to keep all our shoes out of landfills. That is why we work with Soles4Souls, a nonprofit organization that refurbishes shoes so they can be sent to impoverished communities across the world.
